Don’t Believe the Fake News.
Carrie Isaac has fought for Texas veterans.
The liberal media and tax-raising RINO “Republicans” are attacking Carrie Isaac. No surprise here — they know Carrie is a fighter who will fight for conservative values and won't kowtow to political correctness or well-funded lobbyists!
Barron’s false attacks are being funded by a PAC with direct ties to his campaign. In fact, nearly half of the PAC’s funds come from Barron’s own donors. It’s easy enough to see who’s really pulling the strings.
And the facts don’t support the tall tales Carrie’s opponents are spinning.
“The liberal media and her political opponents are making a last-minute false attack against a person and a non-profit who have served this community well.” -Col. Terry Wilson, U.S. Army (Ret)
Carrie’s heart for service led her to take a job with a nonprofit organization called DEWIT to help Texans facing barriers to employment, such as veterans with PTSD, find good-paying digital jobs they can do from home.
A political action committee created by Carrie’s opponent and an individual with a political bone to pick and a history of aggressive and personally intrusive behavior against Carrie is misleading voters. They cite outdated financial figures and attempt to manipulate voters into believing DEWIT was founded to simply write checks to veterans. DEWIT’s purpose at the time was to help under-employed individuals seeking meaningful work in the tech space — a mission it successfully completed through a pilot program that worked with military veterans. One veteran who participated in the pilot program stated, “I really enjoyed the work. I didn’t know what to expect at first, and it took me a while to get a good workspace—but now, I’m ready. I would love to keep doing jobs like these!” The nonprofit’s founder said he was “impressed with Isaac’s work at the nonprofit” and remains supportive of the work she does as a volunteer today.
“In the military we had a saying, you only take flak when over the target. Carrie Isaac has the Texas GOP establishment worried, and instead of discussing how to better serve the constituents, it’s about attacking the daughter of an Air Force veteran. Please join me in supporting Carrie Isaac for State Representative.” -Col. ALlen West
Since then, DEWIT has pivoted its mission to focus exclusively on helping veterans. The DEWIT board wrote in a statement on these politically motivated attacks, “it was this experience that inspired the shift of our mission from digital work for individuals facing employment challenges to assisting veterans with a variety of needs.”
Carrie Isaac and DEWIT have since stepped up to help dozens of veterans in times of financial challenge.
Barron Casteel is lying about conservative Carrie Isaac to distract voters from his liberal record.
Carrie Isaac is the ONLY conservative in the race!
“I didn't fight for my country in Vietnam to be silenced by a bunch of cowardly vulgar mouthed liberal veterans who are too ignorant to find the truth.” -Pastor Bill Cooley, U.S. Air Force (Ret)
Not content to settle for slinging mud at Carrie’s work to help our honorable service men and women re-integrate into society, her opponents went so far as to attack her family and lie about where their home is. The facts show Carrie and her family have called Hays County home for the last 17 years. They’ve lived, volunteered, voted, and paid property taxes in Hays County since 2005 – and, most importantly, raised their two boys here. They enjoy being just down the road from Carrie’s parents and sister, who also live in Hays County.
Carrie’s opponent is trying to convince voters that she doesn’t live in the district. If he had a valid concern, he would file a complaint with the Secretary of State. But instead he is resorting to deliberately spreading disinformation.
The Isaacs periodically rent their home as a short-term rental. The Texas Supreme Court got it right when it ruled on the side of private property rights by affirming the right to use your property as you see fit, including on a short- or long-term basis.. The short-term rental ordinances implemented in New Braunfels while Barron was mayor likely unconstitutionally infringe on his constituents’ property rights. Unfortunately, it’s not surprising Barron is attacking property rights. After all, he boasted about implementing draconian lockdown orders, saying, “I am not aware of communities in Texas that have employed a stricter set of rules.” Barron even told a reporter “he hoped residents would look back one day at the impending crisis and say the city overreacted.” What does it say about a so-called conservative that their first instinct in a crisis was to restrict our freedom?
Carrie’s response to this false mudslinging is straightforward: “My home is in House District 73, my homestead is in House District 73, I’m registered to vote in House District 73, the address on my driver’s license is in House District 73. I get my personal mail and file my taxes in House District 73. My husband served a part of House District 73 in the Texas House for eight years. I raised my boys here since they were two years old and eight years old. Now they are a freshman in college and junior in high school — in a public school in House District 73, not in Austin like my opponent claims, either ignorant or deliberately lying.”
The Isaacs are deeply involved in the House District 73 community. Carrie has volunteered at her sons’ schools, served on local nonprofit boards including Dripping Springs’ food pantry, cofounded the Hays County Republican Women, and even helped host the annual Fourth of July community fireworks show giving back to first responders and veterans.
The desperate liberal media and tax-raising RINO “Republicans” won’t stop lying about Carrie Isaac’s history of service to House District 73.
